THE LAST VOYAGE OF HIS MAJESTY'S HOSPITAL SHIP BRITANNIC

Nearly two thousand tons heavier than her unfortunate sister ship Titanic, and boasting a host of additional safety features installed after that tragedy four years earlier, Britannic completed only five voyages before succumbing to hostile action in the Aegean during the First World War. Unlike the loss of the Titanic only 8 men lost their lives in this sinking.

The book is an historical document - giving a fascinating insight into the mind and popluar consciousness of the time as well as evidencing the author's deep spirituality. With over 40 specially selected illustrations accompanying the original text of 1917, and a concise biography of the author  together with detailed historical notes.

Edited by Simon Mills. This story was recently the subject of a BBC documentary and the site of the wreck is now a popular diving destination.

Reverend John Fleming was the Presbyterian chaplain onboard the Britannic at the time; his narrative remains the only contemporary account of the loss of this White Star liner to be published by a survivor. The book is an historical document - giving a fascinating insight into the mind and popular consciousness of the time as well as evidencing the author's deep spirituality. With over 40 specially selected illustrations accompanying the original text of 1917, and a concise biography of the author  together with detailed historical notes, The Last Voyage of His Majesty's Hospital Ship Britannic is a moving testimony to the courage and fortitude of those involved and a unique viewpoint of the disaster.

Edited by Simon Mills. This story was recently the subject of a BBC documentary and the site of the wreck is now a popular diving destination.
